Air drive
Compressed air enters the cylinder from the air port and pushes the piston to move to one side; On reverse ventilation, the piston returns.
Motion conversion
The linear motion of the piston is converted to the rotating motion of the crank by the fork shifting mechanism. Thanks to the lever principle of the fork, a small stroke of piston movement can be translated into a large Angle of shaft rotation (usually 90° or 180°), while amplifying the output torque.
Torque output
The mechanical advantage of the fork structure enables it to output more torque than the rack and pinion actuator at the same air pressure, especially for valves with large diameters and high torque requirements.
