How to correctly wire the APL312 Limit Switch Box

Jun 22, 2025

The following are the steps and key points for correctly wiring the APL312 Limit Switch Box:
1. Preparation
Confirm that all tools are available, such as wire strippers, screwdrivers, etc. Make sure to cut off the power before wiring to ensure safe operation.
Carefully read the wiring diagram and instructions of the APL312 Limit Switch Box to clarify the functions and uses of each terminal.
2. Wiring steps
Power line connection: Find the power input terminal of the switch box, which is generally marked as "L" (live wire) and "N" (neutral wire). Use wire strippers to strip the insulation layer of the power line to an appropriate length, connect the live wire to the "L" terminal, the neutral wire to the "N" terminal, and tighten the terminal screws with a screwdriver to ensure a firm connection.
Signal line connection: Connect the signal output line to the corresponding signal output terminal according to the specific control requirements. There are normally open (NO) and normally closed (NC) terminals. If the device needs to output a closed signal when it is limited, connect the signal line to the normally closed terminal; if you need to output a disconnect signal, connect it to the normally open terminal. When connecting, also pay attention to the appropriate stripping length, and tighten the screws after wiring.
Grounding connection: To ensure safety, connect the grounding wire to the grounding terminal of the switch box, which is generally marked as "PE". The grounding electrode should be well grounded, and the grounding resistance should meet the requirements of relevant standards to ensure that the current can be safely introduced into the earth when the equipment has a fault, such as leakage.
Multiple switch connections: If multiple APL312 Limit Switch Boxes need to be used in series or parallel, connect their corresponding terminals correctly according to the control logic. When connected in series, the signal output of the previous switch box is used as the input of the next switch box; when connected in parallel, connect the same functional terminals of all switch boxes.
Cable arrangement: After the wiring is completed, arrange the cables to avoid the cables from being entangled, squeezed, or rubbed with other components. Cable ties or cable troughs can be used to fix and protect the cables to make the wiring neat and beautiful, and also facilitate subsequent inspection and maintenance.
3. Inspection and testing
After the wiring is completed, carefully check whether all the wiring is correct and firm, and whether there is any missing or wrong connections.
Before powering on, use a multimeter or other tools to test the circuit, check the continuity and insulation performance of the circuit, and ensure that there are no short circuits or open circuits.
